West London College is a thriving Further and Higher Education College based over four campuses across West London. The College provides training and development for over 25,000 students a year from entry level to postgraduate and is a member of the 157 Group (a consortium of 29 of the UK’s largest FE Colleges).
WLC chose Participant’s online registration, course administration and student management platform to facilitate the enrolment and payments process for a number of their courses and exams including:
• Cambridge Exam courses and exams
• English as a Foreign Language (EFL) courses
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) courses and exams
• Life in the UK courses
• Trinity College preparation courses
• Admission Testing Service
Before implementing their white labelled Participant system WLC were having to deal with thousands of paper forms. These all had to be processed manually which was a huge administrative burden on their staff as delegate lists had to be continuously updated, cheques cashed, financial records maintained and joining instructions and courses details had to be sent out by hand.
It also meant that when students arrived to start their course or take their exam they often had to queue for over 30 minutes to make card payments at the cashier’s desk resulting in large queues weaving across the main hallway.
By implementing Participant all this disappeared as students paid at the point of booking, follow up emails were sent automatically and class registers were updated instantly. The administrative and financial time and cost savings for the College have been considerable.
